About the Role
An International School located in Lagos (Mainland) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Language Teacher who has a genuine passion for teaching and can create a positive and engaging classroom experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of teaching experience, a deep understanding of the Nigerian/British curriculum, and strong proficiency in using Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lessons according to curriculum standards, set assessment tasks, and mark student work
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic progress, and personal development, providing regular feedback and support
- Utilize Microsoft PowerPoint and other digital tools to create interactive and informative teaching materials
- Prepare students for examinations, ensuring comprehensive understanding of subject matter
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and school events
- Complete other duties as required by the Principal
Required Qualifications
- HND, BSc, or B.ED in a relevant discipline
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a reputable secondary school
- Proven track record of preparing students for external examinations (WASSCE, BECE, UTME, IGCSE, etc.)
