## Title: English and Literature Teacher (SSS1–SSS2)

About the Role

Chosen International School, Ijesha is recruiting an English and Literature Teacher for Senior Secondary School levels 1–2 (SSS1–SSS2). This is an opportunity to teach in an established missionary school committed to academic excellence and character development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English Language and Literature to SSS1–SSS2 students with strong subject mastery
  • Prepare comprehensive lesson notes aligned with the scheme of work and complete schemes each term without compromising teaching quality
  • Make effective use of textbooks, literary materials, and other instructional resources
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom and instill moral and spiritual values consistent with the school's missionary foundation
  • Uphold and promote the school's mission, vision, and core values in all interactions
  • Assess, record, and report students' academic progress accurately and on time
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and create a positive learning environment
  • Support student enrollment growth through parent satisfaction and positive referrals

Requirements

  • Minimum of OND in English, Literature, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years proven teaching experience at senior secondary level
  • Strong knowledge of English Language and Literature curriculum for SSS1–SSS2
  • Ability to prepare quality lesson notes and deliver engaging, impactful lessons
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold discipline and positively influence students' character
  • Alignment with the values of a missionary school and commitment to serving as a role model
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience preparing and conducting computer-based exams
