Engineering Manager / Lead – Gas based Combined Cycle Power Plant at Petroexcel Technology Services (P) Limited

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead all engineering activities for a large-scale Gas-Based Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) project. This role requires managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring high-quality designs, optimizing plant performance, and coordinating with EPC contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver the project on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering from concept design through commissioning
• Oversee preparation, review, and approval of technical documents, drawings, and specifications
• Provide timely engineering decisions and solutions
• Manage basic, detail, and interface engineering, including:
  • Equipment selection and plant parameters
  • P&IDs, SLDs, schemes, and flow diagrams
  • Layouts, plot plans, design memorandums, and concept notes
  • Technical specifications for procurement
  • Review of techno-commercial offers and recommendations
• Support procurement team with technical evaluations and vendor selection
• Review and approve suppliers', contractors' documents, drawings, datasheets, and quality plans
• Ensure compliance with international industry standards
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and regulatory bodies
• Optimize plant configuration, cycle design, and equipment selection
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and performance testing
• Monitor engineering progress, risks, and mitigation plans; expedite activities where needed
• Support commercial aspects including invoicing, billing approvals, and negotiating cost impacts

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 20+ years' experience in power generation, with at least 10–15 years in engineering management
• Proven track record in delivering large-scale power generation projects (>500 MW)
• PMP certification (preferred)
