Electro Technical Officer

About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Electro Technical Officer with Ocean Marine Solutions Limited in Lagos, Nigeria.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor all maintenance reports for electronics equipment on vessels
• Verify any abnormalities noted with vessel personnel and report to Technical Manager and General Manager for further action
• Review and improve ship-specific maintenance and testing plans in consultation with the Technical Manager
• Conduct periodic inspections onboard vessels to verify maintenance plans and assess conditions of electronics, instrumentation, and alarm systems
• Conduct onboard familiarization and training for all Electricians and Technicians
• Plan refits, major repairs, modifications, installations, and surveys while maintaining electrical, electronic, and instrumentation planned maintenance including all electrical and electronics safety equipment
• Monitor repair of electronics equipment ashore and update Technical Manager and General Manager on progress
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronics problems onboard and investigate causes of equipment failure, reporting findings and preventive/corrective measures to Technical Manager or General Manager
• Assist Technical Manager or General Manager in monitoring and controlling repair costs and budgets relating to onboard electronics systems
• Identify and accept electronics engineering spares from vendors
• Regularly review and update risk assessments, ensuring correct assessments prior to task commencement and adherence to company safety policies
• Execute other special tasks and projects as directed by General Manager and Technical Manager

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum HND or equivalent valid training certification in Electrical and Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering
• ETO licence (added advantage)
• Membership of relevant professional bodies (advantageous)
