Position Overview
African Natural Resources & Mines Limited (ANRML) is seeking a qualified Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer for our facility in Kaduna, Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrical and instrumentation systems in a bulk emulsion explosive plant.
This role includes overseeing the installation, testing, and maintenance of equipment and control systems to ensure smooth production processes and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems Maintenance & Operation
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment, including 2MVA transformers, ICOG panels, PDB panels, APFC panels, and other panels up to 200A MCCB
- Oversee the maintenance of illumination systems with various LED lighting solutions
- Manage and ensure the reliable operation of 11KV power lines and ensure compliance with relevant licensing and regulatory standards
- Maintain electric motors up to 25 KW and electric boilers with capacities of 640 KW
Instrumentation & Control Systems
- Monitor and maintain PLC and HMI systems, including logic reading, interpretation, and software uploading/upgrading
- Troubleshoot and repair SCADA systems to ensure process monitoring and control accuracy
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot sensors, including pressure and temperature sensors, and associated transmitters
- Perform regular maintenance of actuated valves and other critical control devices
Process Optimization
- Analyze system performance and implement corrective measures to enhance efficiency and reliability
- Identify areas for automation or process improvements and collaborate with engineering teams to execute upgrades
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, system updates, and spare part inventory
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, plant standards, and industry codes
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for electrical and instrumentation systems
