Job Summary
A switchyard erection, testing, and commissioning position involves physical installation, thorough testing, and final activation of electrical switchyard equipment within a substation. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of high voltage power systems, safety protocols, and detailed technical knowledge to ensure the system operates efficiently and reliably according to design specifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee 60MVA 132/33KV switchyard erection, testing, and commissioning
- Install and commission 132KV and 33KV indoor/outdoor switchgear equipment including circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers, surge arrestors, power transformers, earthing reactors, wave traps, and LMU units
- Execute HT cable laying, termination, and HV testing according to design specifications
- Perform power transformer erection including installation of radiators, conservators, marshaling boxes, bushings, OLTC, and DM boxes; install MOG/Buchholz/PRV/breather devices
- Conduct earthing, lightning protection, and illumination work for switchyard installations
- Install 11KV and 33KV indoor VCB panels, protection and control relay panels, and NGR panels with associated wiring and relay configuration
- Read and interpret GA drawings, assembly drawings, and schematic diagrams
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency with test instruments including insulation testers, winding resistance meters, turns ratio testers, CT/VT analyzers, power quality analyzers, Hi-Pot testers, primary/secondary current injection kits, relay testing equipment, and DCRM devices
- Experience with oil filtration machines and oil test kits including BDV and DGA/PPM test kits
- Demonstrated knowledge of HV cable design specifications, indoor/outdoor switchgear design, power transformer specifications, and earthing reactor design
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong understanding of high voltage power systems and safety protocols
