Education/Wash Officer (Re-advertised) at Smiling Hearts Initiatives International

Position Overview

A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent. This is a 6-month position with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise implementation and monitor project activities in the field
• Manage Education Assistants and report progress to supervisors
• Provide technical support in education in emergencies to teachers, facilitators, volunteers, and community members engaged in the project
• Collaborate closely with all stakeholders to ensure programme goals are achieved and sustained
• Actively participate in education-related activities and meetings, and seek active collaboration with other partners working in the education sector
• Ensure close supervision and support of field-based education activities
• Build capacity of WASH staff and provide mentoring
• Identify and communicate project gaps, challenges, and vulnerabilities to the line manager on a timely basis and suggest possible solutions
• Actively participate in the setup of a clear monitoring and evaluation plan, including development and implementation of tools
• Conduct timely and spot monitoring visits to projects to support field staff with on-the-job coaching and ensure project implementations align with the project implementation plan
• Monitor and report on key issues of security, incidents, risks, and situation updates to the Project Manager and Partners to improve decision-making processes
• Assist the Project Manager in internal and external communication sessions and events about the project for sound awareness
• Participate actively as a member of the Programme Management Committee in meaningful deliberations during decision-making for organizational progress
• Write comprehensive project progress reports to funding partners and share them with the Project Manager on a monthly basis as stipulated in the project agreement
