A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent.
Key Responsibilities:
Economic Research & Analysis:
- Monitor and analyze macroeconomic indicators including inflation, GDP, interest rates, exchange rates, and employment trends.
- Track and interpret CBN monetary policy, fiscal policy announcements, and global economic developments.
- Conduct economic scenario analysis and stress testing relevant to the Bank’s operations.
- Support the development of economic forecasts and outlook reports.
- Prepare periodic economic briefs, presentations, and dashboards for senior management.
- Assist in drafting thought leadership reports and economic commentaries.
- Provide economic insights to support treasury, risk, credit, and strategy teams.
- Assess the potential economic impact on loan portfolios, investments, and balance sheet performance
- Support product pricing, asset allocation, and market expansion decisions with economic data.
- Work closely with statisticians, risk analysts, and data teams to validate assumptions and models.
- Ensure accuracy and relevance of economic data used in analysis.
- Support external engagements, regulatory discussions, and internal strategy sessions led by the Chief Economist.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Econometrics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A Master’s Degree or relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
- MinImum 8 years of relevant experience in economic research, banking, financial services, consulting, policy analysis, or research institutions.
- Proven experience analyzing macroeconomic data and producing structured reports.
- Strong understanding of macroeconomics and financial markets
- Analytical and quantitative skills
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools (e.g. EViews, Stata, R, Python – advantage).
