Director of Works, Physical Planning and Maintenance at The Federal University of Agriculture Zuru

About the Role

The Director of Works, Physical Planning and Maintenance reports to the Vice-Chancellor and is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the university's physical infrastructure, facilities, and maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of the Directorate of Works
• Oversee physical and infrastructural facilities management and maintenance across the university
• Supervise staff and ensure quality standards in the maintenance and servicing of all physical structures
• Maintain comprehensive inventory of all university properties
• Ensure security, upkeep, and proper maintenance of university assets
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Vice-Chancellor

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least Second-Class Lower Division honors in one of the following disciplines:
  • Architecture
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Urban and Regional Planning
  • Quantity Surveying
  • Building or related field
• Degree from a recognized institution
• Membership in an appropriate professional body with current practicing license
• Minimum of 15 years of post-qualification work experience
• Previous attainment of rank of Deputy Director or equivalent in a university system

Preferred Qualifications

• Higher degree (Master's or above) in a relevant field

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary and conditions of service shall be in accordance with the standards for the position of Director of Works in Nigerian Federal Universities, as determined by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the University Council.
