## Title: Development Control Officer

About the Role

Wemabod Limited is seeking a qualified Development Control Officer to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. You will be responsible for managing development control activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the implementation of planning standards across our estate.

Key Responsibilities

Development Control & Estate Planning

  • Manage and process applications for plan approval, renovation permits, and related development control activities
  • Ensure all developments within the estate comply with the revised Approval Order, planning regulations, and corporate estate guidelines
  • Conduct routine site inspections to monitor compliance with approved building plans and estate regulations
  • Issue notices, recommendations, and enforcement actions where necessary

Support to Consultant & Implementation of Approval Order

  • Work directly with the planning consultant throughout the revision of the Approval Order
  • Provide field data, estate surveys, stakeholder feedback, and required documentation
  • Participate in technical review sessions and assist in the drafting of estate planning frameworks
  • Lead the on-ground implementation of the new planning standards once approved

Estate Data Management

  • Maintain an updated inventory of plots, land use classifications, approved developments, and compliance records
  • Prepare periodic reports on development trends, planning applications, and revenue generated from planning activities
  • Support digitalization of development control processes and estate mapping

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage residents, businesses, government agencies, and internal departments on planning matters
  • Provide advisory services to applicants on requirements for permit issuance and compliance
  • Attend estate meetings, enforcement exercises, and collaborative planning sessions

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Property Management and Legal teams on planning and compliance matters
  • Provide professional town planning input to support estate improvements and redevelopment proposals

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Urban & Regional Planning, Physical Planning, or related field
  • NYSC completed
