About the Role

An established company is recruiting for a Design and Commercial Engineer Lead to oversee design projects and drive commercial excellence. This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, requiring a professional who can manage projects from conception through completion while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage design projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project objectives, timelines, and budgets
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing exceptional customer service
• Develop detailed designs, utilize CAD software, perform engineering calculations, and optimize project performance
• Prepare cost estimates, conduct value engineering, develop project proposals, and participate in contract negotiations
• Collaborate with procurement teams, develop technical specifications, and evaluate supplier proposals
• Provide technical guidance to construction teams, coordinate project activities, and manage design changes
• Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and integrate risk management into project planning
• Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines and coordinate with project managers, estimators, and schedulers
• Identify training and development needs, promoting continuous learning and professional growth within the team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or HND qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
• 3-5 years of professional experience in design and engineering
• Advanced analytical, creative, and cognitive abilities
• Proficiency with CAD and CAE software (AutoCAD 3D, AutoCAD Advance Steel, AME Tank, SolidWorks, PipeFlow, Prota, ANSYS, Aspen HYSYS)
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Leadership and project management skills

Compensation

Monthly salary: ₦250,000 – ₦300,000
