Database Developer at Ascentech Services Limited

Position Overview

Ascentech Services Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced Oracle Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust database systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in PL/SQL programming, performance tuning, and database optimization to ensure high availability and reliability of applications.

Salary Range

₦400,000 – ₦500,000

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement Oracle database solutions using PL/SQL (stored procedures, triggers, packages)
• Optimize SQL queries and perform database performance tuning
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and relationships to ensure data integrity and efficiency
• Collaborate with application developers to integrate databases with business applications
• Manage database security, backups, and recovery processes
• Troubleshoot database issues and ensure optimal performance
• Support data migration, transformation, and integration activities as required
• Document database designs, configurations, and procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Oracle database development
• Strong proficiency in PL/SQL programming
• Solid understanding of SQL optimization and performance tuning
• Experience with Oracle Database versions (11g, 12c)
• Good knowledge of database normalization, indexing, and partitioning
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work efficiently in an agile, team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Oracle Forms, Reports, or APEX
• Exposure to ETL tools, data migration, and system integration

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Oracle SQL/PLSQL Developer Certification (OCA/OCP)
