About the Role
Our client is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive exceptional service and satisfaction throughout their shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Interaction & Service
- Greet customers warmly and offer assistance promptly
- Listen carefully to customer requests and provide knowledgeable advice
- Upsell and suggest product alternatives
- Handle complaints or returns professionally and resolve issues quickly
- Take special or bulk orders accurately and ensure proper follow-up
Product Preparation & Presentation
- Communicate customer orders clearly to the production team
- Ensure products are weighed, priced, packaged, and labelled accurately before delivery
- Maintain attractive product displays and ensure counters are well-stocked
Sales & Transactions
- Operate the cash register/POS system efficiently
- Process payments (cash, card, etc.) accurately and issue receipts
- Follow up on outstanding customer payments regularly
- Handle customer orders and invoices for catering or wholesale clients
Teamwork & Shop Operations
- Communicate effectively with colleagues (butchers, cashiers, delivery personnel)
- Monitor customer orders and report shortages or unavailable items
- Support daily opening and closing duties, including cleaning and cash balancing
- Participate in store promotions or seasonal campaigns
Requirements
- OND/HND/B.Sc. in any related field
- 2–3 years of proven experience in customer service, preferably in a food retail environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
