Job Summary
The Customer Service Officer / Teller is responsible for providing excellent frontline service to customers by handling financial transactions accurately, responding to inquiries promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The role requires strong attention to detail, integrity, and adherence to banking guidelines and security procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, and check cashing
- Perform routine banking operations with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain and balance cash drawer and reconcile accounts at the beginning and end of each day
- Verify customer identity and check transaction appropriateness
- Identify and escalate suspicious or non-standard activities
- Adhere to internal controls, policies, regulatory requirements, and security procedures
- Maintain strict confidentiality of customer account information
- Promote positive customer relationships and satisfaction
- Provide information about the bank's products and services
- Refer customers to appropriate departments for complex services
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND qualification
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in microfinance banking (advantageous)
