Credit Analyst at Beacongate Limited

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Credit Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating creditworthiness, analyzing financial data, and supporting sound lending decisions across individual and business borrowers.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze applicants' financial statements and credit data to evaluate creditworthiness
• Perform detailed cash flow analysis to assess the repayment capacity of individual and business borrowers
• Compare financial metrics and performance indicators against industry standards
• Prepare and present credit reports and risk assessments to the credit committee
• Recommend loan structuring options based on risk profiles
• Monitor loan performance and proactively flag potential default risks
• Work closely with relationship managers to ensure the quality of credit applications
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines (e.g., CBN/MFB frameworks)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Credit Analyst in a microfinance, commercial bank, or financial institution
• Willingness to resume immediately or as soon as possible
• Preference given to candidates residing in Lagos Island or nearby areas

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CFA)

Key Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of credit analysis techniques, financial ratios, and cash flow modeling
• Solid understanding of microfinance operations, lending principles, and regulatory requirements
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial analysis tools
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in analysis and reporting
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple credit evaluations simultaneously
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound judgments under pressure
