About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team at a healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing healthy and well-balanced meals for patients, staff, and guests, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and taste. This role requires someone who is organized, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to hospital meal plans, patient dietary requirements, and staff menu schedules
- Ensure all meals are prepared hygienically and served on time
- Follow nutritional and dietary guidelines for different patient needs
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area at all times
- Properly store and handle all food items to prevent spoilage and contamination
- Assist in menu planning and food portioning to reduce waste
- Monitor kitchen supplies and promptly report shortages
- Ensure compliance with hospital food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with the catering team to provide excellent service to patients and staff
- Maintain proper records of meals prepared and served daily
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of SSCE / OND or equivalent
- Proven work experience as a Cook, preferably in a hospital, restaurant, or catering service
- Knowledge of basic nutrition and dietary needs (experience in hospital catering is an added advantage)
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality
