Conveyor Belt Engineer(PVC/PU Belts) at Contracting and Technical Services LTD

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Conveyor Belt Engineer with proven expertise in PVC/PU belt joining and splicing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of conveyor belts using both hot vulcanizing and mechanical joining techniques, ensuring optimal belt performance and minimal downtime across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hot vulcanizing and mechanical splicing on PVC and PU conveyor belts
• Operate belt presses: manage temperature control, pressure, and curing times for high-quality joints
• Inspect conveyor systems; diagnose and correct misalignment, joint failures, and wear
• Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and belt failures
• Maintain accurate work reports documenting materials used, repairs, and belt condition
• Comply with safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Ensure adherence to SOPs for production processes, including material selection, cutting, and joining
• Support production with routine inspections to ensure quality standards
• Identify ways to streamline production and maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs

Required Qualifications

• ND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in PVC/PU conveyor belt joining and splicing
• Certification or formal training in conveyor belt splicing (advantage)
• Experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector (preferred)

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong proficiency in hot vulcanizing and mechanical joining techniques
• Skilled in belt press operation, temperature and pressure management, and curing time control
• Ability to diagnose and resolve issues such as belt misalignment, joint failure, and wear
• Understanding of various belt specifications and surface textures
• Strong attention to detail and quality assurance
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
