Contract Tax Consultant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with strong expertise in tax advisory, compliance, and direct liaison with tax authorities. The ideal candidate should have 2–5 years of hands-on experience managing tax matters, handling regulatory correspondence, and ensuring full statutory compliance. This is a remote position with occasional physical visits to tax offices and regulatory agencies when required. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tax advisory services on corporate and individual tax matters.

• Prepare, review, and file tax returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.) accurately and on time.

• Liaise directly with tax authorities including the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and relevant State Internal Revenue Services.

• Handle tax objections, reconciliations, and dispute resolution processes.

• Prepare and respond to tax queries, assessments, and compliance notices.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.

• Maintain accurate financial and tax records.

• Provide support during regulatory inspections and reviews.

• Advise management on tax planning strategies and risk mitigation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 2–5 years proven experience in tax advisory and tax compliance.

• Strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory procedures.

• Experience handling tax related matters, tax advisory and interacting with tax authorities.

• Professional certification (ICAN/ACCA) or in view will be an advantage.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• High level of integrity and professionalism.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
