Title Of Assignment
Consultant for community-based drama presentations for the commemoration of International Campaign Days for Women and People with Disabilities in Yobe State, as follows:
- Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence/Disability-Based Violence.
- International Women’s Day.
- World Menstrual Hygiene Day.
- Promoting Inclusive Education and Vocational Training in Nigeria (Pro-IEVTiN) is a project co-funded by the German Government (BMZ) and Christoffel Blinded Mission (CBM) and implemented in Yobe state by Taimako Community Development Initiative (TCDI).
- As part of efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of women and girls and persons with disabilities is strengthened, and awareness within communities on gender-based and disability-based violence is raised, TCDI seeks to engage consultants to facilitate community drama presentations to commemorate:
- 16 Days of Activism (International Days for Women and People with Disabilities).
- International Women's Day
- Menstrual Hygiene Day
- The consultant will design, plan, and facilitate community-based drama presentations aimed at raising awareness and changing attitudes and social norms around GBV and DBV among community members in selected communities in Yobe State.
- The focus is on prevention, inclusion, rights, and available support for survivors, including persons with disabilities.
- To develop a culturally relevant drama script (or adapt an existing one) addressing GBV and DBV, reflecting local realities in Yobe State.
- To train and support local drama groups (actors, facilitators), including persons with disabilities, in performing the drama.
- To facilitate presentation of the drama in the communities, engaging key groups (youth, women, men, persons with disabilities, and traditional/spiritual leaders).
- To conduct audience engagement sessions (post-drama discussions, question/answer, and feedback) to deepen understanding and reflection.
- To monitor and document the impacts (knowledge, attitudes, and intentions) of the drama presentations among community members.
- Conduct a needs assessment/baseline (e.g., focus groups, key informant interviews) to understand prevailing attitudes, knowledge, and practices about GBV and DBV in the target communities.
- Develop or adapt a drama script (or scripts) in local languages (e.g., Hausa) incorporating messages about GBV, DBV, rights...
