College Librarian at College of Education, Igueben, Edo State

About the Position

We are seeking a qualified College Librarian for the College of Education, Igueben, Edo State. The successful candidate will serve as the Chief Librarian and be responsible to the Provost for all general library matters and the operation of the College library.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Chief Librarian of the College, reporting directly to the Provost
• Oversee all library and information resources of the institution
• Manage the general operations and running of the College library
• Perform additional functions as directed by the Council or Provost

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (good honours) in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized higher institution
• Current certification and active membership with a recognized regulatory and professional body (such as LRCN or NLA)
• Not exceed 59 years of age at the time of application
• Minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in library and information management at tertiary institutions or supervisory bodies
• At least 2 years of experience at the level of Deputy Librarian or equivalent
• Proficiency in computer literacy

Terms of Tenure

• Single term of five years, commencing from the effective date of appointment
• Terms and conditions as specified in the letter of appointment

Terms and Conditions of Service

Service terms are as contained in the law establishing the College, from the effective date of appointment and as specified in the letter of appointment or as applicable to Edo State public service.
