Civil Engineer, Entry Level at Goteh Construction

About the Role

We are seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our expanding team. You will assist in overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of physical and infrastructural projects, including roads, bridges, canals, dams, structures, buildings, power plants, and water and sewage systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in providing comprehensive day-to-day field supervision at project sites
• Ensure all construction work is performed to quality standards in compliance with design specifications, drawings, budget, and schedule
• Conduct technical and feasibility studies and site investigations to establish effective and efficient project executions
• Identify and resolve project design and development problems
• Recommend measures to enhance improvement or efficiency opportunities that may arise
• Coordinate field work, including contract work, to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, and codes
• Identify and implement construction-specific opportunities for improvement
• Test building materials for quality and provide cost estimates and labour requirements for each project
• Assess environmental impacts and risks connected to projects
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal government/agency rules, standards, and procedures

Required Qualifications

• First Degree or Master's from a recognized University in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 3 years post-NYSC experience in construction and project execution
• Ability to work with design engineers, clients, and contractors
• Proficiency with CAD packages
• Excellent time management skills to handle competing deadlines

Desirable Qualifications

• Membership with the Nigerian Society of Engineers and COREN
• Professional certification from internationally recognized engineering bodies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
