Civic Education Teacher at Gonzaga Jesuit College

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Civic Education Teacher to join our faculty at Gonzaga Jesuit College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Civic Education across relevant grade levels, instilling in our students the values of citizenship, responsibility, and social awareness.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective Civic Education lessons in line with the Nigerian curriculum and Jesuit educational philosophy
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments
• Foster critical thinking, civic responsibility, and ethical awareness among students
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning
• Participate actively in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development programs

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Civic Education, Political Science, Social Studies, or related field
• Proven teaching experience in Civic Education at the secondary school level
• Experience as a WAEC examiner (mandatory)
• A Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or equivalent teaching qualification (advantageous)
• Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to Jesuit values of cura personalis (care for the whole person) and service to others
