Job Summary

The Civic Education Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons that promote civic knowledge, democratic values, social responsibility, and national consciousness among students. The teacher helps students understand their rights, duties, and roles as responsible citizens, fostering patriotism, ethical behavior, and participation in community life.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

• Prepare and deliver engaging Civic Education lessons aligned with the national curriculum and school standards
• Employ a variety of teaching strategies—discussion, debate, projects, case studies, and simulations—to encourage critical thinking and civic engagement
• Integrate moral, social, and leadership values into daily instruction
• Design and implement lesson plans, instructional materials, and learning activities that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
• Use current events, community issues, and real-life examples to make learning relevant and meaningful

Assessment and Record-Keeping

• Conduct formative and summative assessments in line with school policy
• Maintain accurate records of students' academic progress, attendance, and behavior
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents

Citizenship and Leadership Development

• Organize civic projects, debates, awareness campaigns, and community service activities
• Support clubs and initiatives that promote leadership, patriotism, and social responsibility (e.g., Press Club, Debate Club, Citizenship Club)
• Encourage respect for diversity, human rights, and peaceful coexistence

Classroom and Behavior Management

• Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment
• Model ethical behavior, discipline, and civic virtues in and outside the classroom
• Enforce school policies fairly and consistently

Professional and School Involvement

Participate in professional development and school-wide activities as required.
