About the Role

The Chief Electrician ensures all preventative and corrective maintenance is completed within the required timescale and in accordance with the maintenance management protocols set out by the Rig Maintenance Supervisor and company policies and procedures. The Chief Electrician is responsible for ensuring all electrical equipment and systems remain functional throughout operations to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently perform all duties assigned by the Rig Maintenance Supervisor on the day-to-day management and long-range stewardship of the rig
• Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe and conscientious manner and correct or notify responsible persons of any unsafe acts and/or conditions
• Actively participate in and contribute to pre-shift and toolbox talk meetings, observation programs, and special operations safety meetings; report any concerns or issues appropriately
• Ensure that entries on permits, isolation tags, and logs accurately reflect the current status of equipment
• Perform additional tasks and support ad hoc projects as required
• Work with assigned assessor to complete competency management assessments and identify areas for development, providing demonstrable evidence to complement assessor outcomes

Required Qualifications and Experience

• High School education or equivalent as a minimum
• Minimum of 8 years oilfield experience
• 4 years of experience in the role of electrician onboard an offshore installation
• Proven experience with drilling instrumentation and equipment in hazardous areas
• Offshore Survival certification (OPITO BOSIET/FOET)
• Offshore Medical certification (OEUK)
• Competency in Explosives (Comp Ex) certification
