Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Chief Commercial Officer to lead our cloud technology consulting and services business. In this role, you will drive commercial growth by building strategic relationships with clients and cloud technology partners, while leading a high-performing sales team across West Africa.
You will proactively originate, shape, and close opportunities involving AWS/GCP technologies, working closely with internal teams and partner account teams. Your expertise will guide enterprises, SMEs, and startups through their cloud transformation journeys, positioning our organization as a trusted technology consulting partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively grow the AWS/GCP technology consulting and services pipeline and sales revenue
- Work with company and AWS/GCP account teams to originate, shape, and close technology-focused opportunities
- Manage and mentor a team of cloud sales specialists, guiding cross-functional teams toward revenue growth targets
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy and plan
- Maintain a robust, qualified sales pipeline and meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets
- Accelerate adoption of AWS/GCP cloud technologies across the West Africa region
- Derive revenue and market share growth in West Africa
- Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key corporate accounts, SMEs, and startups
- Engage with clients at all levels to ensure continued support and partnership
- Lead deal strategy activities including qualification, shaping, definition, win strategy development, and stakeholder mapping
- Engage early in clients' selection processes to influence evaluation criteria and outcomes
- Interact with executive and senior management levels at client organizations and within company/partner networks to negotiate and influence sales strategy
- Work with account leads and industry specialists to understand market context and client requirements
- Drive innovation and evangelize cloud computing solutions to power business and technology outcomes
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in cloud technology sales or commercial leadership roles
- Track record of building and managing high-performing sales teams
- Ability to develop and execute sales strategies that drive measurable revenue growth
- Strong relationship-building skills across enterprise, SME, and startup segments
- Experience working with AWS/GCP or similar cloud technology platforms
- Proficiency in navigating complex enterprise sales cycles
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills at executive levels
- Strategic thinking and business development acumen
