Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chef with strong expertise in Indian cuisine to join our team at Secom Limited in Lagos, Nigeria. The ideal candidate must be able to prepare authentic Indian meals, maintain high standards of hygiene, and demonstrate professionalism in the kitchen. This role is open to qualified candidates of any nationality, provided they have proven experience cooking Indian dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes with consistent taste and presentation
- Plan and organize daily cooking activities to meet operational needs
- Select and prepare fresh, high-quality ingredients
- Apply proper cooking techniques, recipes, and portion control standards
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations
- Monitor inventory and report ingredient shortages
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff
- Suggest improvements or additions to the Indian menu when necessary
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience preparing Indian cuisine
- Ability to cook a variety of Indian dishes (e.g., biryani, curries, tandoori, naan)
- Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and traditional cooking methods
- Good hygiene and professional appearance
- Ability to work flexible shifts
- Residence within or close to Isolo is an added advantage
