About the Role

Machine and Equipment Corporation Africa Limited (MECA) seeks a dedicated Business Development Officer to support the identification and execution of growth opportunities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, and services
• Support the development and execution of business strategies
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis
• Prepare presentations, reports, and proposals for internal and external stakeholders
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Business Development Manager

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
• 2–3 years of banking experience
• Strong interest in business development, sales, and emerging market trends
• Basic understanding of market research, client outreach, and customer relationship management
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a team
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Exposure to or interest in proposal writing, business presentations, and partnership development
• Familiarity with digital tools for presentations and reporting

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
• Willingness to research new industries and explore innovative methods for improving business efficiency
• Eagerness to learn new business and AI-powered tools
