Biology Teacher at TAAS College

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Biology teacher to join our team at TAAS College in Lagos. This position offers the opportunity to inspire students and deliver engaging science education across a range of biology topics.

Teaching & Learning Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans that meet curriculum objectives for Biology
• Teach topics such as cell biology, genetics, ecology, evolution, physiology, and biotechnology in an engaging and age-appropriate manner
• Use creative teaching methods, experiments, and demonstrations to make learning interactive and practical
• Integrate technology and real-world examples to enhance student understanding
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, and laboratory activities
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations (e.g., WAEC, NECO, IGCSE)

Assessment & Record Keeping

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance
• Provide regular feedback to students and parents on academic progress
• Design and administer formative and summative assessments

Student Development

• Encourage students to develop analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Mentor students in science projects, competitions, and clubs
• Foster curiosity, discipline, and teamwork among learners

Professional & Administrative Duties

• Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and school activities
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to enhance interdisciplinary learning
• Uphold school policies, values, and standards of professionalism
• Maintain laboratory safety protocols and ensure proper use of science equipment

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Science Education, or related field (Master's Degree is an advantage)
• Teaching qualification (PGDE, NCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2–3 years teaching experience in a reputable school
• Proficiency in using modern teaching aids and educational technology
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated passion for teaching and continuous professional development
