Biology Teacher at Gonzaga Jesuit College

Summary

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Biology Teacher to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Biology across relevant grade levels, preparing students for internal and external examinations, and nurturing a love for science and inquiry.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective Biology lessons in line with the Nigerian curriculum and Jesuit educational philosophy
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments
• Guide students in laboratory work, practicals, and scientific investigations
• Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific curiosity among learners
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning
• Participate actively in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development programs

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, or related fields
• Proven teaching experience in Biology at the secondary school level
• Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to Jesuit values of cura personalis (care for the whole person) and service to others

Preferred Qualifications

• Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or equivalent teaching qualification
• Experience as a WAEC examiner
