Backend Engineer (Laravel)

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates. Position Overview:  We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our product development team. You will work collaboratively with designers, frontend engineers, and product managers to build, maintain, and scale cross-platform applications for both B2B and B2C use cases. Position Overview:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services and APIs using PHP (Laravel) and Node.js.

• Work on both existing backend systems and new feature development across the product stack.

• Take full-cycle ownership of assigned features—from understanding requirements and proposing solutions to implementation, testing, deployment, and support.

• Collaborate closely with frontend, mobile, and product teams to deliver reliable backend functionality.

• Analyze problems and contribute practical, efficient, and scalable solutions within existing architectures.

• Implement clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.

• Support backend architecture by contributing to system improvements and refactoring where needed.

• Optimize backend performance, API response times, and database queries.

• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to improve overall code quality.

• Assist in debugging, monitoring, and resolving production issues.

• Actively learn new tools, frameworks, and approaches to improve backend delivery and efficiency.

• Operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment with a strong execution mindset.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• 6+ years of professional backend development experience.

• Strong hands-on experience with PHP (Laravel) and Node.js.

• Good understanding of backend development principles and common architectural patterns.

• Ability to clearly understand product and technical problems and implement effective backend solutions.

• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.

• Solid experience working with databases (relational and/or NoSQL), including data modeling and query optimization.

• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and backend security best practices.

• Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.

• Strong execution skills with the ability to deliver tasks independently with minimal supervision.

• Proactive attitude toward learning and continuous improvement.

• Experience working in startup or high-growth technology environments.
