About Our Client
Our client is a multinational pharmaceutical/nutraceutical manufacturing company seeking an experienced Assistant Finance Manager for its business operations in Ikeja, Lagos.
Position Overview
The Assistant Finance Manager will manage key financial functions and assist in developing, maintaining, and supporting the financial activities of the organization. The successful candidate will work alongside the Finance Manager on administrative and financial tasks, including invoicing, budget drafting, issuing purchase orders, and implementing procurement processes. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing monthly financial reports and managing the company's tax filings.
The post holder reports to the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing budgets, drafting income statements, and preparing financial reports and forecasts
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, manage general ledger activities, and reconcile complex financial accounts
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights for improvement and strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations (such as LIRS and FIRS), assist with tax document preparation, and help develop and implement internal controls
- Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for the organization
- Provide administrative and financial support to the Finance Manager and contribute to training and development of the finance team
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in finance or FMCG sector
