Assistant Class Teacher at Role Model School

Job Summary

An assistant class teacher provides support to the lead teacher in creating a positive learning environment. The assistant helps manage classroom activities, provides individual or group instruction, and ensures students are engaged and focused. This role involves assisting with lesson plans, assessments, and classroom organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities
• Provide additional help to students who require extra support, whether individually or in small groups
• Supervise students during breaks, lunch, transitions between classes, drop-off, and pick-up
• Help with the preparation of teaching materials, classroom setup, and organization
• Assist in grading student assignments, marking work, and providing feedback to students
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff about student progress and classroom needs
• Support the teacher in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment by assisting with student discipline and conflict resolution
• Help incorporate technology into lessons and assist students with digital resources and tools
• Undertake other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Education
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in a school setting

Preferred Qualifications

• PGDE or Master's Degree in Education
• Background in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) education
• Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) certificate
