This vacancy presents a chance to join a leading organization. Position Overview:
  • Our client urgently requires the services of an Assistant Chef who has a minimum of four years’ experience. This person must be good in cooking African and continental dishes.
  • The ideal candidate should have OND, HND or BSc and must have worked in a top notched Hotel. Candidates residing within Ikeja or close vicinities to GRA Ikeja will be most preferred
Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients used in food preparation.
  • Planning menus
  • Ensuring food quality and taste is of the highest standard
  • Managing inventory of stock and ordering raw materials
  • Controlling budgets and minimizing wastage
  • Maintaining health and hygiene in the kitchen
  • Organizing duty roster of the staff
  • Recruiting, training and developing staff
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service.
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures.
  • Adapt recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Assist with menu planning and recipe development.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
  • Monitor food waste and implement strategies to reduce waste.
  • Manage kitchen operations during shifts.
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff and management.
  • Follow established portion control guidelines.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues.
  • Any other assignment from the management.
