Applied Behaviour Analysis - ABA, Therapist Trainee

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as an ABA Therapist Trainee. In this role, you will assist in implementing person-centered programs utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Support best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of person-centered programs utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Support best practices
• Support children by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems, and enhancing social skills within a framework that provides choice and promotes empowerment
• Monitor and collect accurate daily data according to each child's service targets
• Support children during times of disruptive behavior
• Ensure all programme materials are organized and accessible
• Assist children with self-help skills including personal care and hygiene needs (toileting, nappy changing, feeding, bathing, nail cutting, and medication administration)
• Model best practice and professionalism at all times
• Attend mandatory trainings, team meetings, and self-directed e-learning modules
• Promote safeguarding and wellbeing for children to the highest standard
• Carry out other duties as required by the Program Director

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology, Child Development Studies, Special Education, or related fields (preferred)
• At least 1 year of applied experience working with individuals with developmental delay and/or autism diagnosis
• Experience managing challenging behaviors
• Experience utilizing ABA methodologies for skill acquisition
• Completed NYSC or will be completing within the next 2 months

Preferred Qualifications

• ABAT or RBT certification
• 1+ years of applied experience working with individuals with speech sound disorders

Additional Requirements

• Must be resident in Lagos or willing to relocate at own cost
• Willing to work on either Island or Mainland locations depending on client needs and availability
