Location: Redemption City / Mowe - Ogun
Position Overview:
- We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Anaesthetic Technician to join our anaesthetics team. The successful candidate will support anaesthetists in administering anaesthesia, prepare and maintain anaesthetic equipment, and contribute to safe, effective anaesthesia care across surgical procedures.
- Assist anaesthetists in preparing and administering anaesthesia.
- Prepare and maintain anaesthetic equipment and supplies before, during, and after procedures.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and promptly report abnormalities to the anaesthetist.
- Ensure anaesthetic equipment is functioning correctly and regularly serviced.
- Clean, sterilise, and restock equipment and work areas.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and reorder when necessary.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative support to patients receiving anaesthesia.
- Assist with safe transfer of patients to and from the operating theatre.
- Reassure and support patients throughout the anaesthetic process.
- Maintain accurate documentation of anaesthetic procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, surgical teams, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Provide necessary anaesthetic support during emergencies and respond quickly to complications under supervision.
- Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Anaesthetic Technology or a related healthcare field.
- Certification as an Anaesthetic Technician from a recognised institution.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in anaesthesia support or peri-operative care (healthcare setting preferred).
- Strong knowledge of anaesthetic procedures, equipment, and patient safety practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and respond to emergencies
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a clinical team
