About the Role
The Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH) Assistant is a field-based position focused on increasing access to sexual and reproductive information and services for women and girls in Northeast Nigeria, specifically in Pulka, Gwoza L.G.A, Borno State. This role involves enhancing access to services, strengthening referral systems for adolescent care, and building the capacity of partners and staff on gender-based violence (GBV) and ASRH issues to improve youth health outcomes.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct group education sessions and individual counselling on sexual and reproductive health services
- Deliver comprehensive sexuality sessions and parent group sessions for adolescents and caregivers
- Provide guidance to Community Health Volunteers on Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health services
- Implement safe motherhood sessions with pregnant adolescents
- Adapt all relevant ASRH Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials for program facilities and ensure re-printing of important ASRH publications for dissemination
- Participate in and assist with organizing sensitization campaigns on ASRH services in the community
- Organize community dialogue meetings with religious and community leaders to introduce ASRH services and youth-friendly corners, and mobilize their support
- Present project progress and program-related data during health coordination meetings
- Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports
