Accounting Officer at Animal Care Services Consult

About the Role

Animal Care Services Consult is seeking a qualified Accounting Officer to join our finance team in Lagos, Nigeria. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciliations, and reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank statements, vendor accounts, and internal ledgers
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain accurate financial data
• Prepare and maintain financial reports and documentation for audits
• Monitor transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Process invoices, payments, and receipts in line with company procedures
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions
• Ensure timely posting of entries into accounting systems
• Liaise with banks and vendors to resolve payment or reconciliation issues
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate data
• Assist in implementing internal controls and improving financial processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, or related field
• Proven experience in account reconciliation and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Membership of ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria)
