About the Role

Mavin Records seeks a dedicated Accounting Intern to provide hands-on support to the Finance team in managing day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal control processes. This role is ideal for a high-achieving graduate looking to build a solid foundation in accounting and finance within the music and entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Record-Keeping

• Post and update accounting records (journals, invoices, receipts, and payments)
• Ensure all supporting documents for transactions are complete and properly filed
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date ledgers

Reporting & Analysis

• Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of financial statements and reports
• Support budget preparation, expense tracking, and variance analysis
• Provide insights into financial data to support strategic decision-making

Audit & Compliance

• Collaborate with external auditors during audit processes
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and accounting standards

Administrative Support

• Perform administrative tasks within the finance department as required
• Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
• Current NYSC corps member
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
