Accountant – FMCG Industry at Ascentech Services Limited

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join a reputable FMCG company in Sagamu. The successful candidate will manage financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and internal controls to ensure the company's financial health and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, VAT, WHT, PAYE, and statutory filings
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Support internal and external audits and liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulators
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making
• Supervise and mentor junior accountants and finance staff

Requirements

• B.Sc. / HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5–6 years' proven experience in accounting, finance, or auditing (FMCG/manufacturing industry experience preferred)
• Professional certification ACA/ACCA (or in view) is an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, Nigerian tax regulations, and compliance
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Sage, QuickBooks, or equivalent)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong leadership with ability to train, supervise, and motivate a finance team
