Accountant at Sunrise Universal Integrated Supermarket

About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Accountant at Sunrise Universal Integrated Supermarket in Lagos, Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions
• Conduct daily reconciliation of all sales lodgments (cash and electronic payments) to ensure accuracy of transactions across all business units
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial data
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making processes
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors during audit processes
• Review all receivables and payables for accuracy and correctness
• Review and cross-check invoices against payment requests for accuracy
• Prepare payroll and process all statutory payments
• Track all expenses for prudency and financial discipline
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices
• Maintain comprehensive records of all accounting transactions

Required Qualifications

• HND or B.Sc in Accountancy or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar capacity
• ACA/ANAN membership (advantageous)

• Ability to multitask effectively
• Proficiency with Tally or other accounting software packages
• Excellent attention to detail and strong record management skills
• Ability to prepare and deliver well-informed presentations on financial reports
• Computer proficiency with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
