About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing team at our Ajao Estate location in Lagos. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who is passionate about contributing to the financial health and operational efficiency of our dynamic logistics company.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting transactions
• Prepare budget forecasts
• Publish financial statements in time
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Ensure timely bank payments
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
• Report on the company's financial health and liquidity
• Audit financial transactions and documents
• Strengthen internal controls
• Comply with financial policies and regulations

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
• Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (Zoho Accounting and QuickBooks)

Required Skills

• Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA)
