About the Role

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control procedures.

This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional with strong accounting knowledge, integrity, and the ability to provide management with timely and reliable financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial statements and accounting records
• Manage general ledger postings, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS) and internal financial policies
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, payroll, and expense management
• Support the preparation of management reports, budgets, and financial forecasts
• Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations (VAT, WHT, PAYE, etc.)
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audit exercises
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
• Participate in cost accounting and inventory management to ensure accurate product costing
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting systems, financial controls, and reporting processes

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) or HND in Accounting or other numerate disciplines
• Professional Certification: Member of ICAN or ACCA (mandatory)
• Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or audit functions
• Industry Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
