## Title: Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking an Accountant to manage the General Ledger, prepare monthly financial reports, ensure statutory compliance, and lead month-end close activities. This role supports bank reconciliations, project cost monitoring, internal controls, and provides audit and tax compliance support. You will work closely with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Supply Chain Management, Project Management Office, and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & GL Control

  • Maintain General Ledger and prepare monthly management accounts
  • Handle accruals, prepayments, journal entries, and fixed assets
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes

Audit, Tax & Compliance

  • Prepare audit schedules and support external audits
  • Ensure PAYE, WHT, VAT, Pension, NHF, NSITF, and ITF compliance
  • Maintain proper documentation for audit trails

Bank Reconciliations & Internal Controls

  • Lead bank reconciliation process and resolve reconciling items with AR/AP teams
  • Strengthen internal controls to ensure financial accuracy

Project Accounting & Costing

  • Review project cost postings and ensure correct WBS/cost centre allocation
  • Work with PMO and technical teams on revenue recognition and project reporting

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Support Sage and Zoho Books usage
  • Recommend improvements to finance processes and reporting templates

Required Qualifications

Education

  • B.Sc. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field

Experience

  • 2-5 years in accounting or related finance role
