A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent.
Position Overview:
The accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, payments, reporting, and compliance activities. The role involves preparing accurate financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing financial insights to support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage supplier and staff payments in line with approved company procedures.
- Prepare financial reports for management and shareholders, providing insights and interpreting financial data.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses and provide financial advice.
- Support month-end and year-end stock counts and valuation processes.
- Assist with statutory and regulatory filings, including taxes and other related submissions.
- Prepare and manage weekly, monthly, and annual operating budgets and cash flow forecasts.
- Prepare monthly internal financial statements and management accounts.
- Manage the company’s relationships with banks and other external financial stakeholders, including credit and facility providers.
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations is an added advantage.
- ICAN certification is an added advantage.
- Continually seek opportunities to improve financial processes and overall company operations.
- Collaborate with HR to develop and support periodic IT and systems-related training programs.
