Account Officer at Sevan Construction Nigeria Limited

About the Role

Sevan Construction Nigeria Limited is seeking an experienced Account Officer to join our finance team in Lagos. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the company's financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring fiscal responsibility across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports, budgets, cost reports, and financial forecasts on a regular basis
• Prepare tax computations and file tax returns
• Assist the finance manager with annual accounts and supporting schedules
• Ensure all expenses are properly documented and recorded
• Compile books of accounts at month-end and year-end
• Perform account reconciliations and financial analyses
• Maintain fiscal responsibility and budgetary control across operations
• Coordinate with senior management on financial decisions
• Manage internal and external audit processes
• Participate in strategic planning and execution, including factory accounting and financial controls
• Oversee financing strategies, activities, and banking relationships
• Manage factory payroll computation, analysis, and reporting
• Conduct factory operating cost analysis, capex analysis, and project accounting
• Provide management with inputs on key efficiency areas

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in financial systems management, budgeting, and financial reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional qualification such as ACCA or ICAN

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
• Knowledge of applicable tax, pension laws, codes, and regulations
• Proficiency with accounting and related computer applications
• Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound judgment and financial problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
