Job Summary

An established company is seeking a highly skilled Account Officer with at least 3 years of accounting experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and cost management, ensuring accurate financial records and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and general ledgers
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and industry accounting standards
• Monitor cost control, financial performance, and variance analysis
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
• Prepare and file tax returns, VAT, PAYE, and other statutory obligations
• Collaborate with auditors to provide requested information and address audit findings or recommendations
• Provide financial performance reports to management and make recommendations for cost reductions, profit maximization, and risk management
• Provide cost analysis and financial insights to management for decision-making
• Work closely with procurement, operations, and finance teams to ensure efficient cash flow management
• Assist in tender pricing, contract cost evaluation, and financial risk analysis

Required Qualifications

• University Degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Certified ICAN
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the accounting field
• Experience in chain distribution business
• Knowledge of financial software
