About the Role

An established company is recruiting for a Workshop Manager to lead all workshop operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep technical knowledge of heavy-duty construction equipment, strong leadership capability, and a commitment to implementing best maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all workshop operations, including equipment diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs
• Lead and supervise mechanics, technicians, welders, and other workshop team members
• Ensure timely servicing of heavy-duty equipment (excavators, loaders, graders, compactors, trucks, etc.)
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules
• Maintain inventory of workshop tools, spare parts, and consumables
• Ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition to support uninterrupted project execution
• Review and approve job cards, service reports, and maintenance logs
• Collaborate with the Plant Manager and Project Teams to plan equipment allocation and resolve breakdowns swiftly
• Uphold safety and compliance standards within the workshop environment
• Recommend process improvements and cost-saving maintenance strategies

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years' proven experience in workshop management within the construction industry
• Strong technical background in heavy equipment maintenance and repairs
• Hands-on knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines, electrical systems, and diagnostics
• Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills
• Strong record-keeping and reporting abilities
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced project environment
• Relevant technical or engineering qualification (OND/HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or related field)
• Professional certifications in equipment maintenance or workshop management (advantageous)
