Job description

An established company is recruiting for the following position. Brief Description
  • Tyre Officer will ensure effective management, maintenance, and monitoring of all tyres across the fleet to reduce breakdowns, minimize operating costs, improve tyre lifespan, and support safe, reliable transport operations.
Duties
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all tyres, tubes, rims, and related materials.
  • Track tyre issuance, returns, and replacements in the tyre register or digital system.
  • Identify minor defects and immediately report them to maintenance (lights, loose connections, leaks, worn components, missing items).
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of tyres to prevent deterioration.
  • Conduct tyre changes, repairs, patching, and rotations on trucks, trailers, pickups, and other fleet units.
  • Ensure correct torqueing and alignment practices during installation.
  • Inspect tyres for wear, cracks, cuts, uneven patterns, and internal defects.
  • Recommend tyres for replacement based on condition and safety standards.
  • Perform regular tyre pressure checks according to manufacturer and company standards.
  • Identify pressure deviations and immediately rectify them to prevent blowouts or premature wear.
  • Carry out pre-trip and post-trip tyre inspections for all outbound trucks.
  • Record tyre usage, mileage, CPK (Cost Per Kilometer), and performance for analysis.
  • Assist in evaluating tyre brands, suppliers, and quality for procurement decisions.
  • Prepare daily/weekly reports on tyre consumption, repairs, scrap analysis, and abnormalities.
  • Provide technical support during breakdowns related to tyres on site or en-route.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures during tyre handling, lifting, and repairs.
  • Support the workshop team with wheel alignment and balancing requirements (if equipment is available).
  • Take up IMS responsibilities such as reporting unsafe act, condition or procedure in the work place, participating in fire or emergency drill at work, participating in incident reporting and investigation when necessary and adherence to Company policies
Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of SSCE / Technical Certification.
  • 2 – 5 years’ experience in tyre maintenance for heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Knowledge of tyre brands, load ratings, and repair procedures.
  • Experience in commercial transport, logistics, or haulage industry preferred.
