## Title: Treasury and Investment Officer
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Treasury and Investment Officer to join our team. This role requires expertise in treasury management, investment analysis, and financial operations within the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise and coordinate with other investment officers and bank staff to obtain information about current market conditions and investable assets for the organization
- Prepare project appraisals for presentation to department review committees, senior management, and the Board, including monthly investment operations reports
- Justify investments and obtain approvals from the finance director and operations committee
- Prepare and process payment approvals for investment funds
- Conduct continuous money market analysis and outlook reviews; monitor industry trends and identify investment opportunities in fixed income securities, money market securities, equities, and real estate
- Undertake work on investment and development aspects, aligning them with institutional objectives and regional strategy development
- Provide input and comments on projects and papers related to sector operations and development across key themes and sectors
- Evaluate, structure, and negotiate investments with a strong focus on credit and asset quality, including processing mandates, conducting due diligence, negotiating term sheets and documentation, and coordinating syndications and Board approval
- Prepare daily liquidity reports on funds available in the company's accounts
- Manage treasury operations to ensure adequate funds for operating and investment activities
- Obtain high-quality investments with appropriate credit ratings and returns that align with the organization's short and long-term investment objectives
- Maintain adequate knowledge of company products to ensure liabilities are properly matched with assets
- Contribute to documentation of lessons learned from investment operations and emerging best practices in areas of expertise
Required Qualifications and Knowledge
- Knowledgeable with the company's internal investment policy and NAICOM's regulatory policy on investments
- Strong understanding of treasury management principles and practices
- Expertise in investment evaluation, structuring, and negotiation
- Knowledge of credit analysis and asset quality assessment
