## Title: Telecommunications Technician
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Telecommunications Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure and equipment across various sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install telecommunications cabling and equipment, including relocation and removal of tower-mounted equipment
- Work at heights on telecommunications structures such as poles, towers, and masts to install antennas, feeders, and ancillary equipment
- Erect and fix steel structures to facilitate telecommunications equipment installation
- Terminate telecommunications cables of various types and sizes, and test cables for compliance with specifications
- Conduct site audits and surveys
- Configure and troubleshoot Licensed and Unlicensed Frequency Radio equipment
- Perform line-of-sight physical surveys and provide documentation reports
- Demonstrate proficiency with Compass, GPS, and Range Finder tools
- Assist operations and project teams during planning and deployment of new projects and technologies
- Provide user support by diagnosing network and device problems and implementing technical or procedural solutions
- Ensure strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) rules and guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to achieve timely project completion under pressure
Requirements
- School leaving certificate (SSCE or WAEC) or equivalent in Telecommunications or related discipline
- 3 to 6 years of experience in the ICT/Telecommunication sector
- Training in RF and Wireless Radio Communication (such as Aviat, Dragon, Cambium, Ubiquity, and Mikrotik Radios)
- Advanced knowledge and experience in installation and configuration of telecommunications products and services
